The Village Jazz Sextet brings together seasoned Los Angeles musicians for sophisticated, energetic performances rooted in the Pacific Palisades. From swinging standards and lyrical ballads to Latin grooves and original music, the group creates an inviting live-jazz experience for community celebrations, private events and special occasions.
Our Palisades connection
Led by Pacific Palisades trumpeter Larry Newman, the ensemble grew from weekly reading sessions where experienced musicians gathered to explore great charts and enjoy making music together. Many performances are first-take readings, capturing the spontaneity, trust and conversation at the heart of jazz.
The Village Jazz Sextet name reflects the place the group calls home and its hope of contributing to the celebrations, gatherings and renewed community life of Pacific Palisades. The repertoire includes jazz standards, music from the Tom Kubis library, originals by Dan Radlauer and selections associated with many of the great names in jazz.
